Biography
I started as a C++ engineer, and I never fully stopped building. Over 15+ years I’ve moved from writing code to leading engineering organizations, but my best work still happens where architecture decisions meet real code. Today I’m building DocuOrbit, an AI platform for enterprise workflows. I design and write much of the core myself, multi-agent orchestration and RAG included, and I’m growing the team around it.
My career has been about full ownership of the product. I built a hardware and software team from zero and shipped 4 product lines (12 devices) to the US market, which meant handling everything from architecture and prototypes to FDA/CE certification and handoff to manufacturing. Later, at Albertsons, I led four teams of 52 engineers on a multi-brand consumer platform with 10M+ users. We cut order cancellations by 32% and raised average order value by 8%.
What ties it together is how I lead: I build teams, hire and grow people, and still stay deep enough technically to steer the hard calls. I’m based in Austin, TX, and focused on engineering and AI leadership roles where hands-on judgment still matters.
Beyond Work
Distance Running
I run long distances, half-marathons included. A long run is how I clear my head, and the best ideas often show up somewhere around the last few miles.
Travel & Road Trips
17 countries so far, and my longest road trip covered 7,500 km. I prefer back roads to tourist routes, because the best finds are usually off the plan.
Experience
2025 – Present
DocuOrbit (Ironkiwi)
Director of Engineering & AI
I lead engineering and AI for DocuOrbit, an AI-native platform for regulated product development, and took it from concept to 41 paying customers. I design and build the multi-agent core myself, with a focus on making AI dependable enough for real compliance work. Our AI-guided workflows cut documentation prep from 6 months to 1. Along the way I grew engineering from 4 to 12.
2022 – 2025
Albertsons (via Kforce)
Director of Mobile Platform Engineering
I grew from Android team lead to running four teams of 52 engineers on a multi-brand platform with 10M+ users. I owned everything that happens after the customer places an order: fulfillment, substitutions and retention. Under my lead, order cancellations fell 32%, average order value rose 8%, CI/CD pipelines got 28% faster and the app rating went up 0.4 points.
2018 – 2022
Bioelement
Director of Engineering, Digital Transformation
Started alongside my ICQMT role at a partner company with shared ownership, then moved here full-time. I replaced a 15-year-old C++ legacy stack with one integrated platform for a multi-site clinic and lab network. It connects operations, lab systems, customer apps, e-commerce and partner integrations. After rollout, processing time dropped 21%, repeat visits grew 12% and customer satisfaction rose 67%.
2016 – 2020
ICQMT
Director of Engineering, Product Development
I built the engineering team from scratch and shipped 4 product lines (12 devices) to the US market. I ran the work across three regions and time zones: customers in the US, engineering in Eastern Europe and manufacturing in South Korea, where I regularly worked on-site with the production technologists. I owned the full cycle, from requirements and prototypes through software, FDA/CE certification and handoff to the factory, along with the budgets.
2009 – 2016
Early career
C++ Developer → Systems Analyst
Wrote C++ and SQL systems, then moved into analysis and team coordination on national power grid software.
